Title: Got me a 9A

Local garage gonna do the 2ltr conversion for me next week

Stage 2 head
Pair o schrick sticks
2l 9a block

Any idea what sort o figures I'll get from this and are there any other mods required to get this puppy going?

I got the engine myself for 250

Spent ages combing all the VW specialists with nothing turning up for nigh on 3 weeks now.

Made one call to the local scrappy and they had a passat GT just in - SWEET!

My mechanic reckons I should be good for about 170bhp and a healthy dose o torque low down!

LOL - thanks for the advice Dizzie. I am actually quite happy with the performance of the 16V as is but the option to lump in a wee bit extra was irresistable!

Not looking for a beast myself although I wouldn't say no to yours mate.

Garage have confirmed the donor engine is a good - been taken care off and compressions are on the nose - work will commence next week!

didnt read the post properly :-[ you should get 155 - 160 for just the 9a being bolted on so 170+ sounds right, get some throttle bodies on there for 200+ ;D

What are throttle bodies and will they make that much difference on their own?

they are like twin carbd but with injectors and you dont have to tune them every weekend like you do with carbs. either will give about 30bhp more
