Title: Immobiliser coding cost - £45 seems a rip off from VAG
Post by: duncan_t on 08 December 2009, 20:23
Been following all the threads about getting a new key for my Mk4. Anybody know where I can get a better deal than £45 to reprogram the immobiliser? That is what VAG just quoted me locally! Rip off for a 5 minute job.

Cheers

Now I'm peeved!

Got my 2nd hand key, got the new blade cut, coded the IR fine and called my local VW garage. They refused to code the immobiliser, even though they told me that would be fine last week! So if there is anybody near Hitchin or Bournemouth that could help me out that would be appreciated

Or would I be able to do it myself with this cable/software?
