Title: aviva insurance and freezing my policy

does anyone no if aviva will let me freeze my insurance rather than cancelling my policy while my car comes off the road for " months?

im only 3rd party
ill phone them tomoro but i fault somone would no hear thanks

9 times out of 10 the major insurance companies will not be able to do this as their systems are not set up for it. They see it as "not worth their while" so will more likely suggest your policy is cancelled. Another option though would be to ask if they can put your policy on Laid-up cover - this can either include Accidental Damage (Laid Up Accidental Fire & Theft) or just be Fire & Theft (Laid Up Fire & Theft).

The chances are if LUFT is offered the premium will plummet and be about £50 per year due to the lack of road use - good for peace of mind if some chav decided to torch it. It's always worth asking - they might be able keep your NCD running at the same time (although I doubt it!)  :smiley:

thanks for that reply as i have no no claims and its my first policy with them i may just cancell it and start a new policy next year
