All depends on how good the welder/fabricator is.
your not far from cardiff, Rhyso would recommend ProSpeed (http://www.pro-speedexhausts.com/)

Have heard mixed things about them but as a nation wide things i gess you are going to get good and bad places. All comes down to the fitter/fabby. I have never used them but some people i know have sai thay have been good where others have said thay have had to go back 1 or 2 times to get the things tweeked as its eather been rubbing/nocking or the welds have snaped. Thays alweys fix the problem but its the hassle of keep going back to them to get it sorted.
If you can find some one eles who has used the same dealership im shore thay would be able to give you a better reply mate.

I had my zr160 exhaust done at the bristol place, well near bristol. It was a very quality of work and the exhaust was very good. Definatly noticed an improvment in power. And was a good price to. So i would reccomend them personally.

Hi

Just came across this thread as part of my daily search for posts about Longlife.  I'm very pleased to see that there's some positive feedback from someone already.  One of the previous posts mentioned that the quality of the fitter will be a large factor in how good the job will be - absolutely correct.

As one of our longest serving franchisees I can highly recommend the depot in Bristol (in fact it's actually North of Bristol in Stone).  If you have a look at the Longlife website, click on www.longlife.co.uk/gallery/vids/default.aspx (http://www.longlife.co.uk/gallery/vids/default.aspx) a good deal of the videos will show you work that Bristol has done - you can then judge for yourself.

I'm more than happy to answer questions if you want to PM or email me.

Kind Regards

Jason Freeman

I have a long life exhaust fitted

paid over £450 for it and since fitting had nothing but problems with it
such as

MELTING RUBBERS
TAIL PIPE CRACKING on about 3 occasions
CHANGED TAIL PIPE for cheaper one and never got a refund for the difference
REAR EXHAUST HANGINGS kept cracking off the wall of the box MORE THAN ONCE
CENTRE SLEEVE was blowing and fixed about 5 times before a flange was fitted (should have been done the first time)
CENTRE BOX  cracked on about 3 occasions and repaired

FINALLY
NEW centre box and pipe installed fitted with NEW OEM rubbers then a patch welded over rear exhaust hanger

seems to have fixed it but is WAY too loud and NO WAY a mid sports tone  and more like an EAR BLEEDING groan so will be going back AGAIN for them to do something with it

SO all in all it has cost me about £900-£1000 pound for something i could of had for less than the original £450
done about 1000 miles back and forwards to long life in Swansea AND Cardiff in about a year and a half.

For some reason i STILL find myself giving them the benefit of the doubt and once the car is back on the road they WILL be getting a phone call to sort it out ONE last time

FAIR PLAY to them they have ALWAYS tried their best to sort it out and not ONCE tried to get out of fixing anything and the LIFE TIME GUARANTEE is what it says on the tin

SO to round up YES get a long life but be prepared to have a bit of grief with it

Andy

They are a Topgear franchise selling Alloy Wheels etc but they don't have a Longlife Franchise which means that all their exhaust work is done under a different brand (Powerflow), nothing to do with Longlife.

Andy, Very sorry that you seem to have had so many problems - it's not the norm I can asure you.  The two depots you mention are generally regarded as very good so I am surprised to be honest.  I'd like to be able to get this sorted once and for all for you - if you want to contact me direct by email then i'll see what I can do to get this resolved properly for you.

Kind Regards

Jason
