Title: Wiper speed problems!....
Post by: dubchaser on 11 October 2004, 11:39
1991 Golf Mk2 Driver 1595cc

Wiper speeds.

My wiper speeds have a mind of there own.  They work fine on the fastest setting.
Work on slow (after having fast on for a while)
Won't work on intermitent.  They very rarely do work, and sometimers you see them move very slightly.  Other than that Intermitent is dead.

I was told to replace the relay switch.  Only thing is where this should be there is only a wire coming from it's location dissapering up into the dash.  The wiper motor in general seems fine.

It gets annoying on fast all the time!

Any ideas?

not 100% sure but might wanna try having a look in the fuse box thats normally where most of the relays are unless its built into the wiper switch itself.

Change the wiper relay!  While you're there get a variable intermittant one, very usefull in the rapidly changing rain conditions we get in the UK :)

Possible, might also be the wiper arm.  Easiest thing to check though if you have a scrapper near by!
