Title: Tyre question
Post by: d4w50n on 02 December 2009, 17:10
Hi,

Am I right in thinking that the valve on a car tyre (the bit you pump air into) is called a Schrader Valve?

If not, what is the correct name, and does anyone know where I can buy a set of 4 for a set of alloys I've just refurbished (I have the alloys and the tyres, just no way of getting air into them).

Do scrap yards usually stock them? If they do, I'll have a look around and get them to fit the tyre onto the wheel for a few quid too.

Thanks

Yes it is, any decent tyre fitting place should be able to sort you out.

aren't you going to want the wheels balanced? seems easier to get your local tyre place to sort the fitment out :)

Sounds about right, or if you want to be swish get them to fit something like these
