Title: electrical problems
Post by: marcogolfo on 10 October 2004, 20:31
Hi I'm in the middle of doing up an old mk2 8 valve on an A plate, its been imported from germany and looks in sound enough condition to do up.  Trouble is I can't get the indicators to work but the hazard lights work.  Also the horn won't work.  I've checked fuses and relays and had the steering wheel off to look at the connections and changed the indicator switch but it still wont work can anyone suggest anything.  Btw i'm crap with electrics and that so please explain anything in decent detail.  Thanks for your help guys
regards
Marco

the relay should make a 'click' noise when the indicators are flashing. Try that  ???

The relay that 'clicks' will be the one to check

sorry not too detailed i know

hmmm the indicators dont work but the hazards do.  So if I put the hazards on and find the relay that does the clicking.  How do I know if it is knackered or not though?
cheers for help guys
I do appreciate it
