wa do you do then? side with your side lights? thats crap when i used to go and see my misses up north (100miles) i used my front fogs constant (in winter) when it was a little foggy or wgen the water was being sprayed everyhwere. i also used my rear fogs when there was fog and i did keep my eye out as soon as the fog dispeared they when off. thats what they are there for. to use when the visibility drops below certain meters

I've often thought about doing this, but you'd have to leave the plastic casing off the back of the fog lamp, which I don't fancy doing to be honest with you!

I thought about this too. The fogs have lenses so I thought it might work well, but if you have to leave the backs off then I guess its not worth it too.

Some lads on VW Vortex have done it, mostly with the dark yellow HID kits. The few pictures I've seen have been glarey as a motherf**k*r. Steer clear unless you can set up the projector for the fogs propely. That and you shouldn't be putting HID bulbs in fogs in the first place  :lipsrsealed:

Sides and front fogs only, not dipped beam.

This combination ONLY works really well in heavy fog.

Amazingly that's the only time you should be using your front fogs.

Rear fogs on first, then only if the fog gets heavier should your front foglights come on.

HIDs in front foglights would make you an utter c*nt.  Adding dazzle in already glare-y conditions.  Why would you do that?
