Silver looks good on any car, IMHO. Good, but not that exciting for a GTI...

first Mk6 GTI I saw was a silver one and I thought it looked pretty horny  looked kinda futuristic and hi-tec, tho I had just come from a silver car so fancied a change. other benefit is that it hides the dirt pretty well!
-
Try a search i have posted loads of pics of both in the past.
Heres a few more from others

I followed a steel grey one on 18's on the M25 last week - good colour IMO. Light enough to contrast the black grille/headlamps, but dark enough to contrast the shiny wheels.
-
need to see a 3 door with 18's on it, in silver or grey!! thanks Steve30

41k!!!!
only think that looks different is that boot spoiler.
-
Good combo - even the Monzas look good against that colour. Dark greys are the best colours, white is definitely the worst.
-
Love the big white arrow on the tyre
-
apart from the ridonklous price, that does look pretty sweeet!

41k in euros at the current exchange rate is a bit stupid! isn't that the standard spoiler?

Excuse poor quality (phone) but here's mine: (http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g26/Andy_vRS/Image037.jpg)

Not keen on it in 4 doors i'm afraid looks a bit frumpy??? BBS wheel look good, but prefer the monza's in 18's . I already have them on my Edition30 bloody murder to keep clean!! Didnt you but some Monza's in middlesborough dealership?? £570 ? Thanks Steve30
-
Yep, the wheels are still in boxes though.
Need 5 doors, 2 teenage kids, plus I don't think the later Golfs look any better in 3 door as they're such big cars now. Why have 3 feet of rear legroom and piss poor access to the back!!!??? LOL

Now thats what they're meant to look like
Good work m8

I don't think it looks anything different to any other hatchback with those wheels. Imho the monzas give it some identity no other car has anything like them. Just my opinion so don't jump down my throat.
-
Don't worry m8, its me thats in a minority on the monzas, and I agree they give the car a certain character, but it bugged me that they are basically a carry over from the mk5, and I prefer others. OK, maybe cancelling was a tad exteme, but at least I love my wheels now

Careful, it's Tuesday and I'm back to grumpy
BBSs and Golfs go together like salt and vinegar gizzy. 19s would look better on the mk6 though as it's too slabby down the sides. The car looks better in the flesh as the BBSs are a bit wider and have a better offset. Anyway I've got my black Monzas to go on as soon as my tyres arrive....

I like Monzas and BBSs. Both classic GTI wheels.
-
The BBS wheels look good Exonian. For Gizzy, they look even better on a black one.

Got to say that motor looks the Dogs B------- ream motor!! Steve30
-
OMG , thats thrown a spanner in the works , thinking now I need to change my preferance to Black rather than Reflex Silver??? :laugh:Steve30
-
Me likes the black GTI, what size wheels/tyres are they? Has it been lowered, if so what kit was it? Thanks
-
I've ordered mine in silver. I want something that goes well with black wheels - that isn't white!
White looks great, but is easily dirty, and I can't help feeling white is a 'fad'.
Silver is a happy medium - easiest to keep clean and shows up less marks etc. It looks good on anything, and doesn't stand out too much... and never goes out of fashion.
My ED30 was Steel Grey - which was kind of the same. Blended into the background, reasonably easy to clean...
I'd have ordered the same again, but I really want black wheels and steel grey is a bit dark for them.
Black is definately the best looking colour when its polished and shiney... but the problem is that within 30 minutes, the dust has settled, and its dirty again. I've had 3 black cars in the last 5 years - and I don't think I'd have another one in a hurry. If you get black, make sure you have plenty of time to look after it!

I'd agree - there was a silver R32 parked in our street this morning, I didn't even notice it until I had walked right up to it! Looked very nice and subtle in silver.

I almost chose silver on the strength of this pic but ended up choosing white.

nice motor!
tho isn't the colour called "Carbon Grey". Steel Grey is a different colour.
note how it looks black at first, but also slightly bluey... has great depth of colour.

Simply superb. The colour/wheel combination is critical and you've got it just right there (though I can't help wondering how long it will stay as clean as that at this time of year )
-
That looks fantastic - you've probably said before but what are those wheels? Cost?

Sadly it's not my car - but the wheels are BBS CO's in 8x18

£1,200-plus
