Title: water in boot

hi can any one help me ive got a water leak in the boot of my 1983 mk1 golf tin top with sun roof. but its realy weired coz its not coming in from the rear lights its coming from above them in the corner, ive just sat in he back of the car for over an hour and its racking my brain were it could be coming from so please help thanx ian

pop blue paper (like the stuff you find in public conveniences to dry your hands with) in around all the suspected entry points and see which part gets wet

you could even dab a wad of the stuff around the suspected entry points to see if it is getting wet...

ive just checked the boot and the water seems to be coming from above the light its dripping off of the lip that over hangs the back of the light any idears any one

do you mean the rear lights? if so i think there is supposed to be a seal that fits around it

yes mate the rear lights the seal is around it but the water is coming from above were the the light sits if that helpsille take a picture tomorro if not its hard to explain

See if its coming through that little hole were the hatch catch is. If the drainholes in the rear hatch are blocked it fills with water and then leaks through the locking catch area. Into the slampanel catch area and runs along the bottom of that panel.

leak fixed it was the the ruber the one i got of ebay was sh!te so i got one from big boys toys and cured it
