Title: new speakers??

I have a mk3 gti (import) and bought new speakers to fit into the rear in the same size as the originals. however the originals are wired up with 4 wires not 2 and they need all 4 to run as far as I can tel? the new speakers only have a positive an negative terminals for 2 wires??  I'm completely stumped??

The other 2 are probably to run tweeters. Join both the "+" and "-" from the wires and connect to your new speakers.

thanks but I have already tried that with no success it seems to me that they need all 4 wires to work?but I'm wary about joinin them together to make 2 out of 4???

There is no harm in joining the 4 wires into 2. As long as it's "+" with "+" and "-" with the "-".
