Title: gearbox swop

started the gearbox swop on my gti 8v today, very akward to get it out due to the diff gettin caught on the flywheel. was just wondering if there was a knack to refitting the new box???? any help welcome!!!

just prepare for a ball ache job mate
did mine the other week and it is a mare
just make sure ya keep it straight
easier to do a Mk3 than Mk2 :D

apparently if you swivel it around so the diff is on top bottom then itll come out easier

dont forget to remove both of the tin shields on the back of the gearbox, theres one on the bottom next to the sump and one round the back just above the driver side driveshaft.
