Title: What's happened to insurance lately?
Post by: bobbarley on 25 November 2009, 22:35
I'm 26, male, 7 years no claims, 3 points on my licence living in Manchester.

I got some quotes in July for a 2005 R32, they were coming out in the £800 region, protected with £400 excess.  I've just done some more searches tonight, and the very cheapest I can find is £1,000!  That's with no protection and £600 excess!

Dunno what's going on

Yeah just to concrete that mate, unfortunatley insurance rates are ever changing and if an insurer has had a bad month on the particular model of vehicle your trying to insure or in the area you live in, i.e with claims or thefts, then they will put their rates up  Thats why prices you are quoted are usually only ever guaranteed for 14days.

Hope this helps

Danny

orite mate, sounds a bit steep, what reason did they give you for increasing your excess?? to be honest mate that isn't something we would offer coz its effectively giving you third party only insurance coz your never gunna get any money back if you make claim. If you fancy giving us a shot at your insurance when it's due for renewal PM me your name and number and renewal date and i'll give you a call nearer the time and see what we can do for you mate
