Title: RCD510
Post by: mags on 25 November 2009, 16:24
Can anyone advise what I should be looking to get for my RCD510?

Quick search of ebay and the ones I could find recently went for between £250 and £375 so they vary widely. These were UK based ones BTW not the Lithuanian specials.

I've been tracking them on ebay as I was considering getting one for mine, but that's on hold now for a month or two as I've recently ordered yet another set of wheels or I'd have made you an offer right now. Mind you if my wheels purchase goes breasts up I'm back in the market for a pair of front tyres and a 510!

the last 5 sales from private sellers have ranged from £226 to £290, another finishing soon at £290 currently although why is beyond me as far better have gone before for less. If you want the eBay numbers I still have then in my watch list.

Would imagine fees would be £15 or so at these selling prces??

I'll keep you up to date with the wheels.

If all goes okay, a set of Black Detroits should be on their way soon. Bit of a marmite wheel but I love 'em! Never seen a set on a mk6 so a bit of a gamble.

Sorry to p1ss on your parade, but eBay have started taking TEN percent of final value for their fees!
I sold my old car stereo a couple of months ago for £290 - had to pay 3.5% to PayPal, and then eBay took £29 for final value fees about a month later.
Last week I sold my old phone for £185.  Paypal took their 3.5%, and when I look at my eBay seller account it says I'm due £18.49 (its the only thing I've sold for about 2 months!)

ROBBING BA5TARDS.

So if you sell an RCD510 for £300, you'll be paying a small fee to list (probably about £1), 3.5% if its paid by paypal (£10.50) then your final value fees (£30).

No wonder eBay make so much money!  £41.50 from a £300 sale!!

When you look at the amount of stuff that sells on eBay, they must be rubbing their hands

Ebay is the perfect business model... and unfortunately the market leader. Not much you can do about it unfortunately :undecided:

Just stuck another phone on for my GF's old man!  When I clicked on the Final Value Fees link, I got this...

All categories, excluding eBay Motors vehicles , mobile phones with contracts and property

Item not sold: No Fee

£0.01 and above:  10.0% of the amount of the winning bid, up to a maximum Final Value Fee of £40.00

Mobile phones with contracts: No charge

Like above - there isn't really much else choice, so people pay the eBay prices.  I remember sticking stuff on and getting £400+ for it, and my Final Value Fees being about £10.

My wheels arrived yesterday, so that's me out of the running for a month or two.
The look like these minus the tyres:
