Title: Big problem
Post by: AliBailey88 on 24 November 2009, 18:00
hello all. since fitting my new wheels and lowering kit (shocks and springs) i have noticed the n/s/f wheel is rubbing on full lock, its almost like the caster angle is wrong ie wheel is further back than the o/s.

Ive had a good snoop around today on the ramp at lunch, and for the life of me i cannot see any previous accident damage, bent or damaged parts. Sub frame looks staright etc, only thing i found is that the wishbone bushes are beggining to perish.

Any ideas guys

o/s/f wheel, nice gap.

n/s/f wheel noticeable smaller gap, which rubs on lock

thats is the castor problem ....  if i handles fine and only slightly rubbing i wont worry too much about it , u can buy a castor kit which can adjust the castor but it cost quite a bit tho ...

it must have been in an accident then, its the only thing i can think of, just cant see any signs of repairs anywhere. i aint gunna waste my money on a caster kit i dont think, its done 160k dont think its worth it.

my ex astra had been in an accident, which resulted in a smaller gap just like yours... the tracking and everythin was fine and i had no problems driving it tho.
