I got my Mk 3 a few months ago and have noticed that certain lights on the dash don't work, i.e everything on the bottom row except for the handbrake light. Does this sound like a fuse problem or a pesky fiddly bulbs-rip-the-dash-out problem?
TIA!

I would say bulbs to be honest.

As far as I'm aware no, the redline on your petrol gauge is for your reference of low petrol.

OMG, how funny! I was just about to post about the petrol light too!! I have never ever had a car that DOESN'T have a low-petrol light, and i've been driving since 1987!! I know that the GTI was a luxury car back in its day (as such) but i wouldn't have considered the petrol light to be a luxury! I think a light is more catching to the eye than a red mark on the tank level indicator..... ;)
As for my dash lights, turns out i was being completely blind as the ones down the bottom do actually work. Eff knows what i was thinking...... I am still convinced that some dont work tho, haha!
