Title: bloody swimming pool

Hey guys i proceeded to open my car a couple of weeks ago to find it about 2 inches deep in water in the foot wells. I striped the interior and door cards and have replaced all the door skins as they were all in a pretty poor shape. Now this has cleared most of it but there is still a leak coming into the nearside front foot well. It is coming from behind the dash slam panel area. The car isnt being driven and it is definatly water not antifreeze. Has anyone had similar and can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Check behind the scuttle panel, exact same happened to mine, cheap to fix but bloody pain in the arse to dry the thing out  :smiley:

blocked drainage holes in the scuttle area, happened to me a few weeks back

check scuttle panel drainage grommets and the bulkhead grommets... same thing happened to me on my mk1

did you manage to extract all the water ok?

just had same in mine and it was leaking in round heater box vent in scuttle and also dripping down middle of heater box vent

Spent a bloody cold and wet day in not so sunny devon trying to get the leak sorted. The skuttle drains were fine but i found that the wiper blank was letting water through it and was dripping down the centre and straight into the heater fan box. Then the fan box suround was also leaking then i found that the accelerator cable and clutch was also letting water in and then the bulkhead seal and underneath the ecu the original sealer had dried up and was letting the water in so i had to seal that up too. so my not so big leak turned into being alot of not so big leaks lol. Thanks for all your help i think ive sorted it now though so time will tell.

I've experience this last year, and I found the cause in the grommets. They are leaking that much so I feel really bad. It is quite hard to dry things at the first place so it is really a pain.SEO Services (http://www.computerseo.com/)

Buy a wet dry vac, they do a great job at emptying pools, then stick a fan heater in for a few hours and ur sorted

Stick a de-humidifier in you'll be stunned at how much water you collect!! :smug:

i have this problem atm . . .tho i bloked a hole up 2 or 3 weeks ago . . .so ive clearly got another hole . . .not happy =(
