Title: Steering Rack replacement
Post by: scoobs7 on 23 November 2009, 20:03
I've only done 14k in my edition 30 and have had to have a steering rack replaced under warranty last week. Seems ok so far. Are there many others who have had this done under warranty or otherwise? What are your thoughts?

Was it due too the noise at full lock?

If so it's classed as an 'operational noise' or nuisance, not actually a problem from damage, or failure apparently  !

Had mine done last year.

It was / is a huge problem with many different VW's not just golfs.  As Sambo says though its a nuisance but not a safety / operatinal problem.
