30.7? Is that all. I have had 37.8 out of my 2.0. And that's down driving.

1.8T AGU remapped btw
-
Since my remap, I cannot get above 35ish mpg.... even when driving like a granny... anyone know why?
My mate can and we both had our AGU's mapped at the same time yet he can get up to 41mpg... :undecided:
-
Whose map is it?

That works out nearly 800 miles to the tank, I just wish it was an every day occurance :undecided:
-
On a good day I can get 34mpg average, only on the motorway though, steady 75.
-
That is amazing stuff Neil
-
My boss regularly gets 70 + but he drives like a proper granny
-
The highest it went was 72.6 mpg Rich, but I couldn't take a pic very easily on the M1  it was over a retun trip to Milton Keynes but mainly motorway and dual carriageway sitting on cruise set at 65 - 70, I'm lucky if I get 45 driving round town and to work.

I wonder what you could get from a bluemotion golf / polo?
-
100mpg rich?

The trip computers are good but they aren't aren't 100% accurate.
I brimmed my last tank with v-power which took 51.40 litres then when the petrol light came on i brimmed with tesco 99 which took 51.90 litres.
So i clocked 315.4 miles and used 51.90 litres
51.90/5.54=9.37 gallons
315.4/9.37= 33.7mpg :nerd:
My trip computer was reset at the time of fill up and after the 315.4 it read 31.9 (on mode 2) so you could all be getting even more than you realise
Any hows i'm doing the same test again with the tesco 99 fuel to see which is best for my pocket and yes i am tighter than a submarine door
-
I have also tried the premuim fuel but dont seem to get any more mpg, just better power
-
I managed to get 36.7 today on an 70 mile round trip with a mixture of motorway (about 10 miles) & the rest on normal roads, Was running on V power for the first time aswell
-
Did you notice any difference in performance? Thinking of using the V-power stuff.
-
Not a great deal of performance improvement really, It does seem more responsive though & better on the MPG
-
I always use v power and on th odd time when i have put tescos 99 in mpg has dropped by around3-4 mpg on the same journey, plus don't normally shop at tescos so collect the shell points which i get fuel vouchers for.
-
ye mines just a 2.slow so 30.7 is UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
Can someone please just come to my house and make it do 70mpg without swapping me engine please, it would be greatly appriciated!
-
I checked my overall average today and it's gone DOWN to 25.4mpg!

That was a damm thirsty car,you could park up and let it idle and the mpg would start to drop :undecided:
-
on the subject of fuel, my digi display is showing a constant 200.00mpg ( will get some pics ) however ive put 45quid in my car this week and done 140miles and its about 10mins away from the refuel light coming on..no i really dont drive fast 40mph my average i would say with no outbrusts of led foot. i warm the car up for 4minutes before driving and leave it for 4 mins once ive stopped, one thing i have noticed is my temp gauge very often just sits around the 45° mark, when i test the blowers there as hot as if the car was 90°..now ive been told this may be a factor as the car may be over fueling to compensate?? does anyone agree? if so what would i change the gauge or a sensor im lost.
cheers
-
thermostat
-
As said, replace thermostat and temp sender, that should sort it.

sorry going to have to disagree a little unless i'm missing something 51.90 should have been divided buy 4.55 (1gallon=4.55 litres) to give 11.40 gallons so 315.4 divided buy 11.40 =27.66 mpg which is about what i average out of mine as i said please point out if i have just made a total c*ck of myself

Why do you people run 2.0 golfs, the fuel consumption is just hidious lol, and you dont even get any power from driving it or fun for that matter.
