Hey Jon
BBS looking very sweet, reckon you should come up to this part of the world for inters 05 so we can all have a gander at your beast.
Quick question for you, What brand are your bonnet lifters? Are they the sort that don't require any drilling at all? I want to fit some on my car as I think they are a nice little touch but I have heard some people have bought ones that require some drilling and self tappers  :-\
I've also read that some can put excessive pressure on the hinge area of the bonnet resulting in panel distortion over time. Just trying to get info from people that use them and which brands seem to be ok.

Cheers
Toby

well piggy nuthin planed for the engine as its runnin 190 @ the wheels so thats sorted but maybe a few chrome bits. a nuther car like mine owell never mind, blue mk2 the centres r ?180 for the 1s yur onabout maybe later.

TOBZ, the lifters r mmm not sure, but yes i had to drill a hole for the top mount its not a self tapper tho its a nut and bolt that comes with the kit  and its easy to fit. will get some more pics up later when the wheels are on, jon.

tobz,
my bonnet lifters go on the supplied bolts. one of which replaces one of the bolts on the bonnet hinge the other looks like a self tapper but replaces one of the wing bolts, so no drilling needed. got mine in the sale from euro car parts about 3 years ago. they are made by inxx or something wack like that, they work fine but have started to rust recently. but who cares for a tenner?!

hi M777, the rims are 15" and 8" wide. ive had to take the wheels of the car as there rubbin loads, not really sure what to do now, heres a day light pic of the car. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v466/jon_hgv/8a68bf0f.jpg)

Post by: g-man on 09 October 2004, 18:34
why not just have the arch lips rolled back then you will be able to run 8x15" et20+ all day long at a -40mm drop.

Post by: jon_hgv on 09 October 2004, 20:33
hi g-man, my ET is 33 and the rims sit out side the arch by a good inch so rollin the arch isnt going to make any diffrence

Hi

I've just noticed your thread and thought i'd post some input for you!

You've probably seen my car around and about on the forum, i've got 9 X 16 Brock B" rims with an ET15 offset.

If I can get no scrubbing on the rear of my car then i'm sure you can.  I opted for G60 arches as my rims are that much wider and the offset makes the rims stick out waaaaay to much.

Get a body shop to panel beat the rears out, not cut away, just beat them out, then get G60's riveted and bonded onto the car.  Thats how mine was done and I have practically no scubbing at all.  FK's will make the car stiffer and allow me to drop lower and still have no scrubbing.

hope that helps!!

G0ldy
