Title: Alternator belt.... Really!
Post by: Reasty on 22 November 2009, 13:42
Hey guys,my alternator belt has started making that horrible squeeling noise ie.its slipping,so today i went to change the belt for a new one, easy enough job should take 5 minutes like on any normal engine.but it seems you have to take off the waterpump/powersteering belt to get the alternator belt off!! is this the case? as i really cant believe you have to do this just to change the alternator belt or am i missing something?

pretty sure it's a couple of bolts at the pulley towards the front of the car, then push pulley back to make belt loose, then reverse procedure to put back on.
