sounds like it..

they normally have a power connector with about 8 lines going in, and a vacuum line (a round hollow tube..) going in the top on the middle.. that usually splits off into two directions shortly after coming out of the pump. :)

thats the one for sure, cheers. Also does the rear wash wipe use the same reservoir bottle as the front wipers or is there a hidden smaller one somewhere ? the reason i ask is that i can hear a motor going but no water is coming out.???

On the subject of central locking, does anyone know if it's an easy/affordable job to install a remote control unit?

how long do you leave it to see if the water is coming out? mine takes about 3 to 5 seconds to reach the tailgate as the tank is in the engine bay. You could also have a leak somewhere and my first guess is where the pipe goes through the firewall.

Volkbits sell universal remote central locking kits that are very easy to fit. (even easier if you already have the VAG c/l) The 4dr kit is about ?30 and can be linked into the existing alarm system faily easily. The kit they do is very good. I have one in my mk2. I now have it wired in to work off my clifford.

Right, i have the kit from Volksbits now but I'm a bit stuck.? I'm sure you're right and it's an easy job but I'd kinda hoped for a few more instructions with the kit than just a wiring diagram on the back of the box? ???? I already have c/l so do i just somehow wire the receiver unit into the pump inthe boot or do i stil have to connect al the wires to each door lock?? I'm beginning to think perhaps a visit to the auto electric place may be in order but would prefer to do it myself.? Anyone any clues?

Cheers
