you didnt have it long enough tho wayne

I have had mine cut out twice but only when alot of electricals were in use and only while turning round a corner, which is scary when the power steering doesnt work lol. a quick rev and its back running lol.

Wen i eventually get round to changing a leaky oil breather pipe and checking my vac pipes and cleaning the throttle body, it should be fine. (BUT my Idle is fine, and runs perfect...) Think most problems of cutting out are sensor probs, coils etc.

Biggest issue i have had with my 8v in 2 years, is that one of the leds that shines on the clocks broke last night.

So now i cant see the petrol gauge that well in the dark.

Bad times.

Is it just me or all of the "big players" on the mk3 board their cars haven't cut out on them?

None here though.

mine had a slight caughing fit back in jan for a day or so but never cut out, then it stopped. Thats it for nearly 2 years and 1000 miles. And dont really look after it that well considering im a technician.

Mine's cut out once, completely randomly one night taking my ex home, started up 10 mins later though, had plenty of times it's conked out on me though when wet...usually due to my stupidity of driving through puddles, but making big splashes is too much fun.

For the record I've have owned the car two years February 2010.  :smug:

My 1.6 used to conk out all the time when I first bought it.

Was typical really.. the person I bought it off delivered it to my door and it seemed to be running fine. As soon as he went, I started it up to move it and it just died, great!

Changed the plugs and filter, still no joy. Bodged the accelerator pedal to keep it running and it worked for a little while, but then kept getting worse.

In the end I got it plugged into a computer, which told me my throttle body was knackered, so I got a second hand one and I've not had any problems since

Had mine 4 1/2 years with no issues. Though the cutting out issue it had previously was fixed 3 weeks before I bought it

It started losing water about 3 months before I part-exed it. Never did find out why...
