Ok. I have been reading all the threads on this forum regarding this issue. But I have a few differences in my car. For starters its only a 1.4cl Mk3 Golf. ABD engine. It starts lovely. Runs a little rough but only cuts out when it gets warm or 20 miles down the road. Takes 30 minutes before I can start it again.
I am currently in the process of renewing plugs & leads.
Cleaning throttle body.
New fuel pump relay.
New coil.
New dizzy & rotor
Checking all vac hoses & cleaning
New fuel pump relay.
Now Alot of people on here have mentioned changing ECU relay. Problem is in my fuse box where this should be positioned there is NO RELAY. Phoned VW and they have not got a relay for this listed for my model. ??? does this Sound right to you guys?
Also mentioned is the crankcase angle sensor. Again I cannot see this and does it have one??
Thanks. Any help appreciated

its a crankshaft position sensor, unsure if yours has one though, you could look on vagcat.com

Done everything that i mentioned and it still cut out. Just changed the fuel filter today and looks like the problem is now sorted. Only time will tell.

If you do have one, sounds very similar to what happened to me.

coolant temperature sensor? Sounds like it to me - causing it to run rich when hot. Does the gauge work? You should get a low resistance across the from the sensor pins when the engine is warm. The sensor is a 4 pin, gauge on the left pair of vertical pins and ecu temp on the right vertical pairs. (I think from memory)
