Title: Clutch or Turbo Problem
Post by: sardeano on 17 November 2009, 21:28
hi, advice/opinion's
Patient Golf Mk4 1.8T running Custom code remap/divertor valve/green filter/smoothed airbox and the latest edition catback Milltek resonant.....

After fitting the exhaust i've having a major problem......when i get a little giddy with my left boot....she accelerates and then there's a sudden burst of power like an automatic really bad.......

is this a clutch problem (slipping)
or

exhaust gases causing a problem with the turbo...

"this as only happened since the exhaust"

help/advice from you guys would be great??????

If the rpm gauge is not going up linear and at the same rate as the speedo then it sounds like clutch slip too me.

Fitting the exhaust has allowed for a bit more power from the engine which has just finsihed the cluth off. If you did not fit the exhaust it would have been a few weeks before the clutch started to slip.

hi, thx...the RPM go's up then the power jumps in.......

if its the clutch do i go for the standard, i've no real plans of anymore upgrades....is the standard clutch capable of handling the mods.....it seems a mine field getting the right part as price is different on every site????

my knowledge is very poor....what would be a average price for a clutch kit??

thx
