Got no heat coming out me blowers so today or tomorrow gonna take the exchanger off it, jst making sure.... Can I drill through it? Or is it best to replace with copper pipe? If so what diameter copper pipe am I looking for?
Gonna replace the blue sensor thingy at the same time, do I have to bleed the system afterwards? I take it I just run the car up to temperature with the lid off the expansion tank?

Replace the pressure limiting thingamies with copper pipe. IIRC 15mm should see you right. If it doesn't, then by a process of elimination it's 22mm. Use jubilee clips as the spring clamps may not be the right size.
Make sure the heater is on hot, so the valve is open, put coolant in, squeeze top and bottom hoses and keep topping up when you start it AND when it's warmed up, so the stat has opened.
Air locking is pretty unlikely - it's not like it's a T25 with 16' of water pipes and about 16litres of coolant waiting to airlock, now is it?

Nice one

Poor skills Mr Hell I spot an error!
Make sure the heater is on hot, so the valve is open.
I've never seen a MKII with a valve, just the flap in the heater box that directs the hot air from the matrix or blocks it off keeping all the warm air in the dash.
