Title: Anniversary engine info needed.
Post by: BigRon on 05 October 2004, 19:48
After a long desission,i have decided to go with an Anniversary instead of R32(6000dif).
im new to the turbo seen and would like to know where to take for remapping,I only know super chips as i had my m/bike done there.I was considering a full milltek exhaust, what sort of breather(airfilterKit)should i consider, would like to get to around 210BHP.

bigron, don't ask anyone what a car handles like. just nip down your local stealership and ask for a test drive ;D everyone will have a different opinion. mine is the R32 isn't very exciting and felt slow.

if you've got a few grand spare talk to Jabba about a IHI turbo. 300bhp+ easy then.

Hi there

Anniversary does not handle like the standard golf, it has much bigger wheels and much stiffer suspension. so the ride is much more hard and its a good job it has nice seats else your rear end would hurt from the bumps!

you didn't mention if you were going to get the petrol or diesel variant?

I have the diesel and its very good. I get about 45mpg out of it on a tank and that includes town and motorway driving. My only gripe is the alloy wheels keep rusting which peeves me off and the dashboard rattles but that seems to happen on every golf! I think VW would call it a Design feature rather than problem.

hope this hleps

have a nice day

Car came with originals, they corroded after about 2 months, replacements lasted about 9 months and then they started to corrode

had them replaced again

now got a set that aren't too bad, they are still corroding but its not anywhere near as bad as it was.

the even worse bit is, when i had my wheels replaced they put the same tyres on that i had and they started to lose pressure. not much about 2-3psi a week. And they said that it was common to all bbs wheels.

Anyway i took the car down to bathwick tyres and they said the clown that had put the tyres back on at the stealership had not removed the grit from wheel rim so thats why they leaked. Anyway they are on there now and don't leak!

While I'm on about crap dealers, mum took her polo (2001 - 22k on the clock) down to the local stealership to have an MOT and service done, they charged her ?200 for the service and failed the MOT saying that her brake pads were down to the metal. And they wanted ?276+VAT to change the pads and discs.

I got the car home and jacked it up, took the pads and discs off and replaced them. The discs were slighyly scored but there was a good 5-6mm of pad left. Lieing little ****. When i went back? to give the technician a bollocking, he was conviently not there.

I think my local stealership are just that. A bit of little old lady syndrome and we can take anyone for a ride!
