Hi guys
Can anyone give me a very good link or a step by step guide! or if your really nice a page scan from haines, on how to change the steering wheel hub on 1.8t?

When you do it up tighten to 55Nm :afro:

putting my new steering wheel on today but dont have a tool that measures the nm when tightening what should i do is it very important to do it to 55nm?

I use a torque wrench for head bolts, everything else just get tightened up till it won't go no more.

if you don't have a torque wrench yes but don't keep forcing it round otherwise you'll knacker the thread
I'd advise you pick up a new bolt too

got a new bolt from dealer is it same size as normal mk4 bolt as thats what i ordered? also bolt has blue stuff on it am i right in thinking its thread lock stuff?

as long as you ordered a steering wheel bolt then yeah its a direct replacement.

either an M12 spline or a Torx 55 bit should do the job

£192 delivered from German Ebay about 2 years ago; thats when the exchange rate was half decent though
Its an 'ok' price. Personally, 2nd hand, I wouldn't have paid more than £140 maybe but then i think most things 2nd hand are well overpriced!! :grin:

Ok guys
After work today i took a few quick photos of the steering wheel now in! Absolutely love the wheel, it really compliments the flock dash! I know its not a conventional R32 wheel or audi wheel, but as you all know im taking the care a different route :grin: :grin:

Yeah black roof lining would be my a lovely mod! But keeping my eyes peeled for some off a breaker! And yeah, centre console needs doing, but might dip into a dog box at some point! so not sure yet

don't be a pansy. Do it right, strip the lining out and leave it bare... Then strip the rest of the car. Go full on rally-tastic :smiley:
