Post by: A7 UFO on 15 November 2009, 11:36: 288s stopped lardy mk3 VR's well enough so there should be no need to really uprate these other than decent discs, pads, fluid and lines...esp as there has been no weight added. Most people only upgrade brakes for aesthetic reasons

Post by: johnson6672 on 15 November 2009, 11:39: Just thinking as the car most of the engine upgrades has 312mm brakes he would have at least gone for that as an upgrade, aggreed the 288mm aren't bad, was going to try and put some on my mk2 but heard its a no go cause of the discs.

the g60 280mm set up is more than man enough for mk2s. If you really wanted to you could go to the brembo 305mm 4 pot set up but that is over doing it.

I'd agree with that, i'm quite impressed with the mk4 brakes, i've suffered no problems or fade yet
