Title: V.W CUP
Post by: RJT on 04 October 2004, 17:42
Do any of you guys follow the v.w cup racing.I went to my first ever one yesterday at Brands Hatch and was totally amazed at how many cars(and many differant models) there were on the grid.Would be good to do a meet at one of those events and give the vw's some support because all i saw were TVR and Corvette owners clubs oh and a couple of Holdens which follow the GT series.

May see if they come to oulten park, which is my local track, may go and have a look.

Only vw racing i seen the past is the vw drag racing championship at bug jam, and that is mainly if not all aircooled.

Still good fun tho !

I read about that too, however, looking here... http://www.vw-cup.co.uk/overview.pdf

It looks as though this years regs will be the same as last years. Hopefully!

It does say that "Essentially, any Volkswagen racing car can be eligible for the Cup, but must
have a Volkswagen Racing Logbook issued before it can race." This is what is mentioned in the Golf+ Magazine. I guess VW will only issue a VW Racing Logbook to the cars they choose.

Nothing VW can or will build can compare to the catalogue of classics they made. It all went pear shaped from MK3 golf onwards.

yep, but the power restriction is a power to weight one, so the advantage the older ones have goes out the window
