Title: ?30 chip off ebay!!!!! anyone had one!

i'm thinking about getting one of those chips off ebay for ?30 theres 2 people selling them and another one selling them for ?65..........

anyone got one..... do they work!!!

its seems cheap for ?30 to get 6bhp extra.......

I got one off ebay a couple of months ago, I actually paid ?21 for mine though so be patient a let a few go by. Most sellers put one on as an auction then list a few as buy-it-now auctions in the hope that bidders who didn't win the auction will go for the buy-it-now ones at a slightly higher price.
Anyway the chip works fine, seems a bit smoother in the mid-range. I'm not really sure whether it has actually added any power but at that price I was happier with a smoother drive. I think you only really notice a power difference if you have other mods on your car e.g. long duration camshafts, performance exhaust, free-flow air filter etc. All in all worth trying for the money, mine came with a decent set of colour instructions and I managed to fit it in about 30minutes. Dave Hawkins on here also has one so you may want to ask his opinion.

are these not just the little resistors that bluff the ECU into over-fuelling?

Yeah the one I bought is a copy of a proper chip.
The fake resistor chips are a complete waste of time (not that I've ever wasted money on one)

yeah they look like proper chips......... black retangle with little pins!
