Can anyone tell me the easiest way to de-badge the back of the car.

I was told that as its a new car (easier to heat them up) and then rub off the glue with tar remover

I've always removed mine using dental floss to carefully 'cut' the badge off then with the aid of a little heat peeled the remainder of the adhesive backing off. A little polish and job done.

leave the car parked in Croydon overnight... jobs a good un!

Anyone debadged the front, yet?

I know mine is the lowly GT but unlike the brochure they have decided not to badge the front. (unlike the MK V)

I'm not sure where you're going with this thread! why would you want to de-badge?

It's not so bad when it's just 'GTI' or 'R32' or something, but I do it to tidy up the back of the car and make it easier to keep clean. Not a fan of cleaning out the dirt which collects in between the letters. Plus everyone who cares knows it's a Golf without having to read a little chrome badge.
