Hi there, recently bought a mk2 golf which started life as a 1.8 16v... however now has 2.0l 16v head from a mk3 and 2.0 16v 9a bottom end from a corrado. Also has k + n filter and magnex back box, different cams, although not sure which type. Any idea what kind of power figures i should be looking at?
Cheers :)

6.8hp

Can be anywhere from 150-170+ depending on cams and how well the fuelling has been set up (still k-jet i take it?).
-
haha was hoping for nearer 7.2bhp to be honest. But yeah its still k-jet, previous owner claimed 175bhp but with no proof can only take his word for it.

It doesn't have to be a "random guess", it can be a rough figure to expect based on what similar specs give on a rr.

Nah its fine was only looking for a rough figure, i accept that i will need to do a rolling road to get an exact figure though. :undecided:

Rolling road aint that bad, i think i have seen them for £50 an hour so you have got time to fiddle

On the r-tech website theres an ad for a rolling road day, £35 quid per car. Sounds cheap enough to me for a few runs

I have a receipt from the late 90's for a chip and map on my 8valve digi. Any way I can see if it still has that ecu on it? Cus I know the previous owner had some problems with the ecu shortly before I got it

open the case and look

lol duh, but what am I looking for mate? I am almost scared of electrics, especially when it comes to messing with the ecu. I know basic mechanics really
