Title: VAG COM won't work

my cars a 1993 vr6, the ecu is obd1 but it has the 16 pin obd2 vag com plug.  I believe this is because its the cross over model.  Anyway i bought a obd2 vag com cable and scanned it, but know faults came up, (there is definitely faults).  it works fine on my gti. 


any ideas, have i got wrong cable or sumit????

if its able to read the module properly + scanned it then its working properly, just because there are problems doesnt mean there will be fault codes, especially as its only obd1 which is quite primitive, but you could test it by running scans with things unplugged
