A while ago now i replaced the heater blower the same time i took the dash apart. Blower works fine but there's always been f' all air make it out of the vents. i put this down to something i did when taking the dash apart, but after puzzling over it for a while am not so sure.
Then i had the idea that maybe the blower was wrong. Here's the picture of mine:

If you compare it to this one i saw on ebay, the blades look different:

On mine, they have an anti-clockwise pattern, and the other one they're clockwise, if you see what i mean? Does it make any difference and mean i've got the lhd version? Or am i completely wrong?
Part number for mine is 191 819 021
Cheers
Steve
edit: just seen this on us ebay so maybe on to something?

Think so, they're listed as RHD/LHD in ETKA with different part numbers.

I've just looked at a spare I have and it is opposite to the one in the pic, however it doesn't matter which way the blades are so long as the spin direction is correct, yours must spin 'clockwise' looking at it from the open end if it is to 'blow' in the right direction. Are you sure the control levers are operating the flap properly?

Reverse the poles on the connections and see if you get any more joy that way.
-
jezza, mine spins anti-clockwise so guessing that is the problem
darnpb, what's the best way of reversing the poles? Does it mean cutting up the loom?
-
Im sure you can pull off the resistor part (the connector block bit) and pull the spade connectors off and switch them over. (been a while since i messed with mine)

RESULT! Just swapped the connectors over and I now have air coming out of my vents again  I suspect that because it was spinning the wrong way before most of the air was going up the opening that goes to the engine bay.
Cheers for the advice boys!
