Title: quick question for R Tech, or anyone really!
Post by: mikemk4gti on 05 November 2009, 21:34
Hi, Whats the latest spec 1 map you do for an AUM? gen3 / 4? Reason why is that I'm thinking of having mine done with a gen3 at eco-tech in chester (only because its much closer to me than you guys) was just wondering if its the latest one as I might get it done on saturday. Also how does the gen 2 differ to the gen 3 as the gen 2 is cheaper?
Thanks,
Mike.

R-Tech uses their own maps and if I can remember correctly they don't sell them to other tunners. So the map will be different.

They do mobile remaps. Top bunch :afro:

Hello,

All the remaps are the same price, Our spec1 remaps have been worked on over the years to make them even better. The gen2 and 3 remap are still outstanding.
We are now on gen4 which was produced from the gen3 using 3 cars during the summer months with over 40 hours of dyno time gone in to the fine tuning.  The idea with the gen update maps is not no make any more peak power or boost vs a std spec1, but to bet the car up to peak power faster and smoother and giving a strong linear pull up to the red line, giving more area under the curve on the dyno plot.   You really need to test drive a car with a gen 4 remap to full under stand how the power delivery works

Simon a Ecotech can offer the gen3 remap for the same price but branded as an ecotech remap without the back up and support from us.  They cannot offer the gen4 remap as this is 100% unique to us.

The gen4 AUM map is very very good. Hitting boost and it stays there.

Only way to do it is a trip to R Tech.

Shame about that one m8,  :undecided:    Defo 110% the ecu in your car has been mapped, the checksum did not match a stock file and few of the maps had beed changed, load request by 20% without smoothing, Load request during continued knock???, One of the PID maps which control the n75 was a bit nasty and another map which I have not got a clue what they are, but by how it look in 2d it looks like someone has taken them for injection maps? which your ecu dont have?

Do you have vagcom?

Hello,

I would not worry about the Revo remap, its generic tried and tested so it will be fine.  The problem will be down to your engine imo.  Things to look at are spark plugs, Throttle body, PCV pipe from inlet manifold to 1-way valve, and MAF.

Where are you from?
