Title: Mk5 mats in a Mk6 ???
Post by: jaxx on 05 November 2009, 13:53
Hey all,

Can someone tell me if mk5 mats will fit into a a mk6 ?
Ive been looking for rubber/monster mats for a Mk6 GTI, but can only find them in the US, which is LHD.

Is there anyone in the UK stocking RHD monster mats ?
My alternative will be to get something out of a Mk5 Golf or Jetta/ Bora - will these fit ?

Thanks!

Should fit fine as the floor pans is the same on both cars. Maybe swing by your local dealers and see if they have a MKV mat set you can try.

One small difference: on some models of mk5 (early ones) the attachment pegs in the front carpet are a different shape. On the mk6 and late mk5s there are round pegs and the early mk5s had oval pegs. Kind of reminds you of those baby toys where you have to hammer the square brick through the round hole.....
