can somebody help me i have a tinted strip for mk2 golf gti never seen 1 before need to know if it's rare or a price on it? can any of you dubbers help me. cheers :smiley: my email address is: hitman-69er@hotmail.com email me with any info new to forums any1 tell me how i can upload pics? emailed a few of you make sure you check junk mail just incase. thanks.

Im going to throw a guess out here that its a heckleblend you are referring to, is it a strip that goes inbetween the lights and the number plate mounts to it

it doesnt sit on the tailgate it sits underneath it mate any other ideas? cheers,

I seem to recall back in the 80's there was a styling trend for reflective panels with the name of the car on it called a 'backflash'. Like the Heckblendes they usually went between the lights on, mainly on Astras and XR3's. And I remember you could get one for the Golf which fitted on the panel below the tailgate/lights.
If I'm right it's rare, since few people would have fitted one. I'd recommend you remove it very carefully as they used strong adhesive pads, then snap it in half and burn it.

We just sold our Audi Coupé - but it was the '90s version - the guy we sold it to was a friend and is stripping it for parts anyway lol - so you might be in luck, pm me.

We just sold our Audi Coupé - but it was the '90s version - the guy we sold it to was a friend and is stripping it for parts anyway lol - so you might be in luck, pm me.
i need and earlier model i race prepped my 2.3 kv engine and went back to the old cable clutch so anything with hydraulic clutch is out of the window. need something from around 84.

The "backflash" was the rear window sticker that said XR3i, GTE etc. I'm sure that the reflective rear panels were called er reflective rear panels. They can with some nice atractive numberplate relocators as well iirc. :grin:
