Just thought i'd say hi, just bought a brand new mk5 GTI DSG must be one of the last ones registered - have to say have been quite impressed, did look at getting a mk6 but couldnt justify the price difference for essentially the same car and i actually prefer the looks, lets hope it continues. Traded in a 350z for it as i needed the auto and the space!

Yep is a 59 reg, will have to post some pics when its clean. Actually couple of questions is Cruise Control standard? Whats the oil that the engine drinks that ive heard so much about and also i stupidly didnt check the manual and its in german can you get replacements? Cheers E.

Cruise control wasn't standard on UK cars but if yours was built to a different market spec then cruise might have been standard kit.

The oil that you need is the Longlife stuff available from your dealer or you can get it from Halfrauds, it's the Castrol Edge 5w/30. The label says it's suitable for latest VW & Audi engines.

If you want replacements manuals you should be able to get them off ebay, or you can order from a dealer.
