If they are fitted they must work, but not compulsary to have them fitted.

I recently removed my front fog lights and replaced with smoked lenses without fog lights. Although my front fogs were not tested when I took it for MOT.      Cheers     Deano

You could look at Mk4 type headlights and do away with the in bumper indicator/fogs completely!

Front fog lights are not part of the mot, you will need to relocate the indicators to your headlamps which can be tricky unless like Len suggested you run mk4 style headlamps.

The other thing to think of is the towing hitch between fogs and indicator.

Under construction and use regs you must have front / side and rear.

They were dangerous, I nearly got smacked by one of them whilst cycling once.

As said, you don't need fog lights, but you do need indicators, I've seen them relocated to the bottom of the bumper and it looks good!

Also as someone else said, you've got the towing eye to think about aswell

They have to be a minimum height by law, I believe the bottom of the bumper is too low.

Hmm loads of people on Ed38 have relocated them to the bottom of the bumper

Loads of people on Ed38 maybe breaking the law then!

Think the minimum height is around 350mm  :undecided:

I am not sure what the minimum height is but I know when they converted the Rover 75 to MG versions which included lowering they had to fit new front bumpers with higher mounted indicators.

Standard they are quite low so I would say bottom of the bumper is way too low.
