Title: Air filters
Post by: jonesltd on 31 October 2009, 11:41
Call me thick but I went to get my replacement air filter from vw and remembered what someone told me that Derv's like big air intakes and cold air? So would I not be better in getting that cone shape filter? I also read on here that you can get the look a like same filter to what is supplied with VW (with orangey around the edge) but in pipercross or something? Surely that wont be any different to what I got from VW?

Dont want the car to sound any louder as it is a taxi already!

All engines like colder air!

Get a PiperX panel filter, won't increase in noise but you may get a bit more air through. Maybe have a look at the DSG intake mod too.

worthwhile doing this even for a derv tbh as the pipercross flows 30% more air over an oem filter so that in its self is a plus adding the larger dsg intake pipe etc will draw in a bigger percentage of air into the engine also
