I especially like the following 2 entries under performance stats:
0 to 60 mph (secs) No
Engine Power - PS Yes
So it has some engine power, but doesn't get to 60mph? VW.... my deposit back please!

Well that will depend on how much you pay,if you have it on finance, how you drive it,how far you drive it,etc etc etc :undecided:

Yup, sorry but this is such a dumb question. You need to give a lot more specifics.
Frankly you should be able to work this out for yourself as well. Have you ever owned a car?!

OK, I'll re-phrase the question slightly...
I'm interest you know, approximately, what it will cost you over the first year of GTI ownership including monthly payments, depreciation on a new GTI?
Only postive friendly replies please, no smart arses need reply....

So you would like to know my personal finance details? Shall I give you my sort code and bank account number as well?
(is your name George?)
Anyway.... I don't mind sharing my experience of expected year 1 costs on a PCP.
Deposit 3,500
Mth'ly payments on 3 yrs PCP 419 quid plus 155 quid for the first mth (there will be a lump sum of approx 12k at the end)
Insurance 400
Depreciation - doesn't count since that is included in the above. However I reckon it's lost something like 2 grand since I drove it off the forecourt.
Petrol - roughly 75 quid per mth
Wax - 40 quid
New cash washing equipment (don't want old skanky stuff on my new car) - 20 quid
Give or take about 10 grand for year 1. Yrs 2 and 3 will be approx 6k. Then can return the car or buy it for 12k. Cost of finance is something like 4k over the 3 yrs.
Depreciation could lower this cost since the 12k is fixed, i.e. if the car is worth 15k at the end of the 3 yrs, then I have built up 3k equity in the car which I can realise by either buying the car for 12k and selling it for 15k, or by handing the car back to VW and they give me 3k towards the next car.

thanks alot

What Car servicing has triggered a thought. I haven't included any items like tyres, windscreen wipers, brake pads etc. Stick a few hundred a year on top for that. Whilst VW servicing is £250 for 3 yrs, it doesn't include that kind of stuff.

(6 + 23) x £239 = £6931 over 2 yrs
about £3.5k per year + insurance + petrol

An excellent and comprehensive post, Gazdebaz!
