Title: MK3 stereo surround - help!
Post by: tobee1 on 30 October 2009, 12:48
Hi, I have a MK3 8v. It's totally standard and I want to keep it that way. However, when I bought it there was a cassette player in it from a MK4 Golf. I have removed this and installed a Sony CD head unit which as far as I know is a standard head unit size but there is a gap all the way round the edge where you can see the cradle holding the CD player. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a plastic surround to cover up the exposed metal? Can provide a pic if it would help. Hope someone can help! Thanks

Should have had one with the Sony H/U. Mine did.

If it was a second hand unit, then maybe the surround was broken or lost by the previous owner. I would either try your local halfords or ebay to see if anything can be bought for it

Just found this.........

Maybe that will do it
