Title: New lowering springs needed, recommendations?
Post by: Wazzzer on 29 October 2009, 13:13
I'm after another set of lowering springs (don't ask) so I need you lot to tell me what's good. I'm looking to spend around £70 but don't want anything that's really harsh. I've seen some Jamex springs which are around the right price, anyone have these on their Golf? I had a full set of Jamex suspension on my XR2 years ago and they were good but dunno how they are now...

Thanking you in advance

EDIT: -40mm please

I bought some Weitec springs for jonnyturbo on here and there great! just got the standard shocks on and they feel great on the road, bit harsh over very uneven roads at high speed but what do you expect expect with standard shocks

Would defo recommend

Ideally I'd like to get a 2nd hand set as I don't want to spend much on them, anyone got any for sale?

Mines got a Jamex kit on (springs and shocks). On the open road it's very smooth (coming from a lowered Corsa) and quite compliant round town also.

Mines about 45ish mm? Rear springs have apparently been "heat treated" somewhere custom by previous owner to get them lower mind, the rear is certainly stiffer but it's also polybushed too.
