sounds like you have used the old 8v wiring, which will mean your sensor wiring is wrong.

the green/black wire ids for the oil temp, and on the 16v this sensor is on the back of the head, not the oil filter housing. on the 8v the low oil pressure switch is on the side of the head, with the blue wire going to it.

You need to extend the blue wire so it reaches the oil filter housing, the blue wire goes to the black/blue/brown sesnor, the yellow wire goes to the white sensor.  Then you'll need to extend the green wire to reach the back of the head, if you're bothered about the MFA working.  If you're lucky the 9a will have 3 sensor holes on the filter housing, if so you can move the oil temp sensor into the filter housing.

if its a small single pin one with a black colar, yeah thats the coolant temp sensor for the dash.
the single pin one on the back of the head with a white colar is the oil temp sensor for the MFA :)

do you still have your old engine? if so whip out the sensor from the side of the head and swap it over, replace the black/brown/blue sensor thats on the 9a. the white sensor should be fine, otherwise it woudl be buzzing over 2k rpm.

yep it is, its the black one with the red/yel wire. snip the plug off and run the red/yel wire to the 1pin sensor on the side of the head with the black colar. the 2nd wire is no longer used, tape it up or follow it back and chop it off.
