Title: Original Car Stereo???
Post by: acampbe1 on 29 September 2004, 19:03
Could anyone tell me which stereo came as standard with a 98MkIII?

The one I got with the car is a Sony XR-C55ORDS but the manual
is for a Sony XR-6859RDS

Not sure if it was standard but when I bought my '97 P it had a Sony XR-C5300R head unit. Presume it has been upgraded at some point as it is the newer style compared to Overseers with the drop down front (whole face is screen). Only a tape system but thankfully compatible with a Sony 6 CD stacker in the boot!

Yeah think its an upgrade. Should both systems not be compatible with the disk changer though?
