Title: Mk3 Colour Concept, plastic trim removal!!
Post by: Dobbin33 on 26 October 2009, 19:33
Hi guys, I'm new here so hope this is working ok. I've got a 96 Gti Colour concept in black magic pearl. I was wondering how hard is it to romove all plastic trim, I used to like it but now it's kind of faded to greyish and think it would look better painted. Especially as Black gives such a good shine. Ps. It is a five door! Any advice would be good, it is off the road at the min but will have to be back on soon as using sisters car... :undecided:

hey, welcome to the forum. this question would be best asked in the mk3 section or cosmetics section. i resprayed mine with hycote satin black, took ages to mask of but looks the nuts now. but removing the trim can also be done.... beware of rust underneeth though..

Thanks for the info. Does need a bit of cosmetic work anyway, slight dent and a bit of rust on doors and just under rear tailgate but otherwise pretty good. Will a try Mk3 section then. cheers.
