Hello from North Yorkshire.
I’ve had two golf GTIs.
1st one was a Mk2 which I had from new, bought it in Germany tax free in 1990, and had loads of extras on it, leather, ABS, Scalia wheels (the type off the old Sciroco) cost me about £11K. Kept it 13 years sold it for £2300 in 2003, with 113,000 on the clock, always dealer serviced and I looked after it, wish I’d kept and I often wonder if it is still going.
2nd was a Mk4 GTI T had it four years nothing special. Then took a fancying for a BMW convertible. I was at an age where
a) I could afford it
b) I wouldn’t kill myself.
After 11 months of owning the BMW and getting the soft top thing out of my system, I am taking receipt of a MK5 GTI next week and how happy am I .
Look forward to posting…
