Hi all,
i have golf mk2 gti 8v y:1985-1987 (i dont know right), engine code is EV and is k-jetronic. It doesen have catalyst.
I was looking to buy a new manifold, which are quite cheap here on ebay (arround 170£).

I dont know which is better 4-1 or 4-2-1. And what do you thing about these from ebay.
Thank you, Ales

Ive been told they dont have much preformance gains for the amount u pay. Ebay isnt the best place for exhaust parts as their ethier made cheaply or the material aint quality. But a few people on her run them they might have some more info.
-
try the hot tunning guys...do you a decent price if you mention the forum too
-
Be carefull with the ebay ones as some are lhd.
-
I never thought the EV had breathing issues (its hardly a big performer).
I'd stick to stock unless the current one is cracked, then invest the £170 towards a rear-ended ABF MK3.

I am running the second one of the 2 you posted up and 2 yrs with no probs (16V version). Only niggle is it's tinny when you put your foot down but some might say all stainless mani's are like that.
It wont make your car any faster unless its part of an engine rebuild however it's a dam site lighter and if i may be so bold without checking, cheaper than standard?
Your choice.

A 4.1 is for top end and 4.2.1 is more mid range. Well I would go for a ashleys 4.1 and a complete system to get the benafits
-
I have the second one you posted also. It's brand new never used and for sale if you are interested PM me. Also have piper 285 cam, 280mm brake set up and loads more stuff (shamless plug sorry ).
-
The 1st one does say it comes with a ten year warrenty so might not be all that bad??
-
Hey bullyboy you got those stuff up for sale on the forum? Could you link me to the brakes??
-
Thanks everyone for answers.
I am from Slovenia, so custom made options are not so good for me.
I want new manifold because i tought that this would give me quite good power gain for this price.
I am new to the cars and "tuning" so I dont know a lot, how to improve car and make more BHP from this engine. So i would ask you if you recomend something different to do with this ammount of money (200-300€).
Thank you very much, Ales

+1 on the Hotuning ones

There's no BHP to be got, fit an ABF already, everything else is just delaying the inevitable ;)

I have talked to local "vw guy" and now we are searching for a new engine. ABF, 9A or KR (it is the best option, because of police)

Because of police???

yes, here are preaty nasty about custumizing cars.
friend got 560€ of penalty because of having different lights on his Ibiza. If you have customised something bigger (changed engine, put car in body kit or something like that) they can take your car and destroy it
but i think they dont know this well mk2 golf, to know which engine was in at original car
-
we get pretty nasty about foreign folk 'custumizing' our language!
Only joking mate, but seriously, screw living in slovinia. I thought the uk was a bit iffy

I wish the cops would crush some of the cars with body kits around here .

Yer lincolns pretty good for it... you need to try grimsby/clee if you think lincs is bad though

Oh yes now all about what goes on in the east coast massive. It's the fashion police that are needed over there and the police Subaru is not the only STI you'll come into contact with!
