Title: 5w-30 or 5w-40

which oil as i've had a look no one can state what is really better (imagine the 5w30 is more eco friendl due to less viscosity). But then again I heard climatic temperture affects the oil and can cause more sludge to develop if incorrect oil used etc...

really depends what your putting it in,      5w-30 wouldn't go well in a 200k mk2  but be right for later cars

Sprry I forgot to mention its a mk4 AGU 1.8T, what do you think would be best for that engine?

5/40 mate !!! i use motul specific , very good stuff
